Background information

Research has shown that the level of children in Peruvian public schools in reading and arithmetic is insufficient. Our growers Agricola La Venta and Campos del Sur wanted to improve the level of the public schools in Ica that their employees' children attend.

In this three-year programme, 77 teachers are trained in new teaching methods in the areas of reading, writing and arithmetic. This is done through workshops, coaching, feedback during lessons and meetings to exchange knowledge and experiences. In addition, events are organised at the schools where pupils can present their projects.
The results are impressive. Pupils make huge progress in their reading, writing and arithmetic skills, which has a great impact on their further education and life.

Personal story

Mery Quijandria Nunez (32 years teacher) and Nelida Lourdes Diaz de Piccone (30 years teacher).

We have been looking forward to this programme and are very happy with it. It is well constructed and it will allow us to grow professionally. This programme is going to help us a lot and improve our work as teachers. We learn a lot of new things that we can immediately put into practice.
