Improving the circumstances

With the ongoing impact COVID-19 is having on Peru, Nature’s Pride Foundation has reached out to its dedicated growers to work together on improving access to water and sanitation. Access to water, sanitation and hygiene (or WASH) is essential to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

So far, two projects have been approved. One of these is in the high Andes of the Caraz region, where an agricultural community of 560 small-scale farmers supplies us with mangetout through our grower FairFruit. The project will improve access to water and sanitation in the community school and on the fields. People from the community also receive training and sanitary kits.

The other project is implemented in the South, in the Ica area. Here, our asparagus supplier ProAgro is improving a medical post where tens of people with COVID-19 and other medical conditions are treated every day. Part of the work includes improving the sanitation and general infrastructure of the post.

Together, we can improve hygiene and contribute to containing COVID-19 as much as possible.
