School Garden Handbook
The Nature’s Pride Foundation is proud to present its School Garden Handbook. The handbook is a practical step-by-step guide to create vegetable gardens at schools with the goal of bringing nature and healthy eating habits closer to communities. It was co-created with Peruvian partners Horizonte, Fundación Niños del Arco Iris, and Agrícola Cerro Prieto.
The handbook builds on several years of experience in implementing vegetable gardens and introduces the new concept of a food forest. It emphasizes the importance of crop diversification, healthy soil, and biodiversity. The educational and health benefits of school gardens for students and communities are widely documented.
Nature’s Pride Foundation co-finances the implementation of vegetable gardens in areas of influence of its growers. It will start with five schools in Peru together with its growers Agrícola Cerro Prieto and Hortifrut.
